Delete your Gemmo account
Gemmo is an app by Billions Works FZE LLC. You can delete your Gemmo account and the data linked to it at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Delete in the app
- Open Gemmo and go to Profile → Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is deleted at once and you are signed out.
Without the app or if your account is blocked
- Write to support@gemmo.ae with the subject “Delete my account” and tell us how you signed in: your phone number, or that you use Sign in with Apple or Google.
- We will ask you to sign in to the Gemmo app once, with the same phone number or the same Apple or Google account, within 24 hours. This is how we make sure that the request comes from the owner of the account and not from someone else. A blocked account can be confirmed this way too.
- We delete the account within 30 days of your request and let you know by e-mail.
We cannot delete an account on the word of the sender alone, because deletion cannot be undone. Without access to the phone number or the Apple or Google account we cannot confirm that the account is yours, so we cannot delete it on request. Your listings stop being shown 30 days after they were published in any case.
What is deleted
- Your name, profile photo, contacts and sign-in details.
- The photos and texts of your listings — they disappear from Gemmo, and their copies are cleared from our content delivery network.
- Your favourites and interests.
- Your messages: the people you chatted with see “Message deleted” instead of them.
- Reviews about you.
What is kept, and for how long
- The other side of your chats. The people you chatted with keep their own messages in read-only mode; you are shown as “Deleted user”.
- Reviews you published stay, signed “Deleted user”.
- Anonymous statistics: the price, category and district of your listings, without photos, text or anything that identifies you.
- Data under open reports: reported messages and listings are kept until the report is closed and 30 more days, no longer than 90 days.
- One-way hashes of your phone number, Apple or Google ID and device identifiers: 90 days, to prevent abuse. If your account was blocked, the hash of the phone number is kept for 12 months from the block. A hash cannot be turned back into the number or ID.
- Backups: up to 14 days, after which the data is gone.
- Records of moderator actions about your account: at least 1 year.
